At Awaji Yume-Butai

午後、各国の子どもたちが自分のiEARN活動について紹介するプレゼンテーションがありました。発表者の中の一人、エジプトのサラにインタビューをしました。『「学校でのいじめなど人々に起こる危険な出来事をなくして、人々に喜びあふれる人生が訪れるようにとこの発表をしました』   In the afternoon, they had a presentation time to introduce iEARN activities in their countries.  Sarah, a presenter from Egypt , said; “I gave the presentation, wishing that all the people would enjoy their beautiful lives without disasters.

At Iwaya Junior High school

「紙すき・書道・おりがみ」を一日中体験しました。「紙すき」は日本人の子もほぼ初体験で、楽しそうな声が響いていました。「書道のコーナー」は日本からの参加者に外国の子どもたちが「自分が書きたい言葉を英訳して」と頼み、いい雰囲気でした。また「折り紙」初体験、アメリカのエリザベスは「おりがみ作りで、今まで自分の周りにはなかった日本の文化に触れることができてとても新鮮だった」と喜んでいました。たっぷりと日本の文化を楽しんでくださいね。

They experience Washi (Japanese-style paper) making, calligraphy, and Origami.  Washi-making was unfamiliar to even Japanese students and the room was filled with excitement.  In the calligraphy section, non-Japanese students asked Japanese to write their favorite words, and bright atmosphere could be seen among participants.  Elizabeth from USA , who learned Origami for the first time, was satisfied – “I was glad to get to know Japanese traditional culture.  I did not expect it but it was a fresh experience

平和の歌「ねがい」

“NEGAI”（wish）~ Song For World Peace ~

中学生が平和への思いを詩にし、それを市民合唱団の方と一緒に歌にしました。JEARNでは、今年６月にホームページで紹介し、その後、事務局には、世界中のiEARNの先生から、各国語に訳したものが続々と届きました。その数、３０ケ国に達する勢い。

Junior high school students made a poem of world peace and sang it with a city chorus group.  JEARN introduced it on web page and iEARN members from about 30 countries sent us their translated versions. 

iEARN changed my life

Youth Summitの代表を務めるSarah Alamさん、前大会のキースピーカーとしてスピーチしてくれました。iEARNパキスタンに参加し、様々な活動や討論会を通して、生活も性格も大きく変わったと言います。「世界中に’家族’ができ、勇気や自信を持てるようになり、視野が広がったのも大きな収穫です」。今は「Child Labor Project」に積極的に取り組み、「子供たちが社会の一員として働き、私たちの抱えている問題に対して自分なりの意識をもてるよう」にがんばっているところです。

Ms. Sarah Alam, the chief representative of the youth summit, gave a speech as a keynote speaker.  After becoming a member of iEARN Pakistan and through participating in a variety of activities and discussions, she realized that her life and personality were changing greatly.  Further, she obtained countless things from iEARN – confidence, courage, fresh points of view, and “new family” in the world.  Now, she is specifically working on “Child Labor Project” as she says “children need to become parts of our social community by obtaining and raising their consciousness on problems that we are facing today.”
