1. What is your overall evaluation?
This was a great experirnce for students, both educationally
and personally.
2. Please provide your comments on the preparations and steps
involved in making the conference possible.
This was the last class after 1/2 a year of exchanging e-mail
/ news / questions etc…
Students problem, their speeches last term(2nd) as their final
project for the course and then just practiced in this VERY short
term.
3. What specific problems, if any, did you encounter?
Not really a problem, but a difficulty is that students couldn't
imagine what the conference was like before hard.
4. How long was the class and how was the time used?
This has been a year-long exchange with sweden.
The conference was a finale. * see report for class content.

the conference?
I gave them formats, time limits, and corrected their speeches
giving advice to improve the presentation of them,Helped them
practice.

from the other school?
E-mail was used as the main source of communication between
the teachers on both sides.

was conducted and what impressions did you have about the other
school's students?
I thought it was very fun for students and thus, well conducted.
8. Please provide your comments on how you feel the TV conference
should be used.
This finale worked very well. It provides incentive to work hard
during the term and after much correspondence, allows students
to feel like what they were doing and the person(s)' they were
connecting with all term,are real.
It is a wonderful multi-discriplinary tool.
9. What do you think about future exchanges with the other
school?
I hope this can go on year after year. The more expenence we
have, the better the conferences will be.
10. In what way(s) do you feel the conference affected the
students regarding:
a. language/communications study?
It give "life"and weaning to English. Also,it is good
for students to meet other non-native English speakers and see
how well
they can speak the language.
b. cross-cultural understanding?
It teaches us much and sparks an interest that lasts long after
the conference is over.
11. In order to conduct Teleclass (i.e. International conferencing)
more effectively, what are your views regarding preparations,
methods, etc. Please be specific.
1. Show video of former teleclass experience to students so they
can get an idea of what this is like.
2. Use BGM
3. Move Slowly / speak Slowly and clearly.(practice using video
camera)
4. Only prepare about a one hour schedule and leave the vest
for Q+A.
5. Do introductions from student on one side to partner student
on the otherside,so they really feel involved and as if they know
someone on the other side.
6. Use lots of varied visuala and include dances or performances
of some kind.
12. In order to obtain greater participation from students
within your school, country and other countries, what steps can
be
taken to create a greater wareness of Teleclass?
